The Moerangi Mountain Biking Track is 38km long, traveling deep into the Whirinaki Forest Park. One end is at Okahu Valley and the other end is at Whirinaki Forest Park entrance off River Road. There is plently of great decents with around about 950 meters of climbing up hill. People have recommended starting at the Okahu Valley end.

Whirinaki Forest Holidays provides a transport shuttle to either end of the track in your vehicle or ours. We will then bring your vehicle back to the lodge and look after it until you are ready to be picked up.

You have the option of biking back to the lodge from River Road which is another 14km approx of gravel and tar sealed road.

There is also another Mountain Biking Track in the Whirinaki Forest Park. The Whirinaki Mountain Biking track which was opened in August 2006. It weaves through our beautiful native forest. This track will take you deep into the Whirinaki Forest, it's designed for the eco mountain biker with a medium fitness and skill level (grade 2 - 3).  The track is 16 km and most people complete it in 2 - 4 hours.  Shorter sections of the track can also be ridden. We do provide transport to this track aswell if you want but this track is a loop track unlike the Moerangi Track.
